If the poles are steel, then there should be no problem. Steel bars have been used for concrete reinforcement since..... with no problems - unless the steel corrodes. The good thing is the linear thermal expansion coefficient of concrete is nearly the same as for steel. The more likely cause for cracking would be a large masss of concrete under severe thermal stress and cracking from a point around your poles. Dividing the slab into smaller blocks is probably a more important factor. Just my 2p worth. Regards, RAB
