Summer and winter diesel fuels

I don't use my loader very often so I still have lots
of diesel fuel left from when I bought it last summer. Yesterday it was about -15c/5f and the machine ran fine
(the block heater was plugged in beforehand). I bought the diesel at a regular service station. I don't
know what kind it was or whether or not we change types of
fuel in the winter (southern Quebec). At what temperature does 'summer' diesel start to have
problems ? Should I be topping off with winter stuff ?
I doubt I'll use up a tankful by spring. Can you buy an additive to make summer diesel like winter
diesel ? Thanks.
