Since they offered you another block upon seeing the JBWeld repair, I'd hazard to speculate that they were on the up and up, and honestly didn't see the repair. I've had a number of folks point out some rather obvious things I've missed on my own equipment, so I find it completely plausable. Doubly so since they didn't pretend it wasn't there. That said, I'd have no fear of a JBWeld repair on a block. We had a Cat throw a rod through the block years ago. Considering the price of that new block (makes JD green look cheap), we patched it with JBWeld. Been going strong for many years now.
