This is the standard by which equipment divided, for overall size,weight, and horsepower requirements. The hitches on the tractor are also catagorized, so that an implement of inappropriate is not fastened on. It is an aid when purchasing tooling, so you know if you are buying the right size equipment without having to try it out. Hope this helps a little.
