As previously stated the maturity,hand/eye coordination,strength and size of the person no matter the age applies.
Sometimes the pressure of busy farm schedules,weather etc can influence the decision unfortunately.
I was three years and three months driving the hand clutch 60 gas rowcrop to bale straw. Dad hopped off the wagon to help on turns. I'm glad nothing went seriously wrong. Been driving since but don't recommend the practice.
Had an old "field bomber" truck to drive silly with instead of trying foolish stunts endangering equipment,good vehicles or the public. Really scared a cow and my self oneday however.
