I've been noticing a lot of LPG tractors for sale in the photo ads lately and was just currious about there use. I didn't now they were even made unitl a few years ago when a neighbor bought an old JD for parades that runs on LPG. I've been using it in my pickups since the mid 80's to save a little on the cost of fuel but the price is gradually sneaking up so that it really isn't worth it to convert anymore unless you live near a local depot. I can buy it for .38/litre at the depot but at the gas stations they'er asking .54 - .59/ litre. When the farmers bought a LPG tractor did they have a way to fill them at home or did they get a supplier to come out all the time? Was the price of propane much lower than gas back then? How about Power? I know my truck has noticeably less power for pulling when running on propane compared to gas (it has dual fuel). What about the cost of the LPG tractor compared to gas?
