I don't know if that would work, but I had a IH 464 diesel once, and it had an ether attachment that had a place to fasten in a can of ether, and a solenoid that when you pressed a button it would push the top of the spray can and spray directly into the intake manifold, it worked great. If you have a hose connecting your carburetor to the air filter you can mdify the hose a little bit to be able to clamp a spray can under it, and run a choke cable down through the top of the hose to push the top of the ether can. You would want to remove the plastic nozzle that makes it spray in a cone so it will just spray up so that it doesn't get sucked through the engine. Another way that might make it look like a factory job might be to put a priming cap, like on a Farmall F20 that goes through the rocker arm cover into the intake port, and splice that into the hose. You can just slide the cap open, spray some ether in, and crank. The ether will remain in suspension long enough to work. By the way, I have just as much luck with things like carburetor cleaner, or brake cleaner whenever I need a quick shot for something that hasn't started for a while.
