I don't have my tractor insured outside of my farm except while transporting on a trailer. However I have had a problem with State Farm. I bought a farm last year and moved there. State Farm would not insure my new property! too far out of the city limits. I was a 25 year home and auto State Farm customer, with only 2 small auto claims in 25 years! I got the State farm representative to 'fess up', he said state farm was trying to reduce their risk of loss, They had lost a LOT of money 'gambling' on the stock market and now apparently they only want to insure persons/things that are not likely to produce a claim. State Farm agents are only allowed to write a few new policies a month. Silly me, I thought the insurance industry was in the business of taking risks, I guess it is up to the individual to take the risk now. I checked with Farm Bureau and they were eager to get my business, also I saved quite a bit of money on my auto insurance with Farm Bureau. Well off of my soapbox....
