I have a little over 5 acres and own a Ford 3000 (40 hp diesel) and Massey Ferguson 35 (33 hp gas with loader). There are times when I could use some more guts in the tractor but the 3000 is quite strong for a little tractor. The 640 is about the same I think and would stay out of the "N" series for your needs. Sometimes I wish I had a International 1066 or a Case 1370 when I need some power.....being under-powered in some situations is really aggravating. Something in the 35-50 HP range is probably adequate.
