The 1586 does have a torque but the three speed trannie isn't any better then the 4 speeds. We have run 1586 and 1566 tractors and 1456, 1466 and 1486 tractors. The true differance in power is hardly noticeable (all ran at about 165 hp). Of all five lines the only one that had rearend problems was the 1566. The torques never went out in any of them and all had well over 12000 hrs (3 are still running hard). I agree the 4440 is a better tractor to operate but you will pay for it up front and later when it needs repairs. You might be ahead when you go to trade it.
