was there a loss of power and bogging down before it stuttered and died? or was it a sudden stutter and immediate shut-down? Immediate suggests electrical problem. Bogging ;oss og power and stuttering indicates fuel supply. 12V conversion. Do you have the correct drop resistor before the coil? and double check the small insulator where the main wire from the coil goesinto the side of the distributor. Check that it is not grounding but has the insulator in place. Do you have spark at the plugs? pull a plug, and while cranking it, hold the plug with insulated pliers to the block. You should have a good 1/4" blue spark jump from the plug to the block. Post your results.
