Only just noticed this. I haven't run a W8E but I ran a Case W7E back in the early 70's. A good, robust machine, reasonably easy to maintain and a good performer, especially for a rear-wheel steer machine. The electric bucket leveller gave no trouble in the 9 months I was on it. Hydraulic power was adequate, road speed and handling were good --- for a rear-wheel steer. The 4-in-1 bucket on this one was an Australian-built ROH and worked very well. I could scrape topsoil off a lawn and leave most of the grass intact if the lawn was reasonably smooth.

It did everything I asked of it and way out-performed a Volvo 641 loader in mud. The one I ran had a rear-mounted ripper which was more than just an adornment. It worked. It probably also made it more stable, especially when roading it, which I did a LOT of. Water or other ballast in all tires also helps.

Downside: Mostly due to the way the rear axle is mounted under a frame which then pivots under the main frame, the center of gravity is a little higher than I would like. The operator sits in a cockpit-style situation which is live-withable but not brilliant.

To sum up, I liked it, not as much as a Cat. or a Kawasaki, but I did like it. I did a LOT of house site excavations and clean-ups with it with not much drama.
