For light use, probably yes. Unless the engine has been rebuilt with hardened valve seats, you can't be sure what damage might occur until it does. Certainly it was designed well before leaded gas was phased out. Unless you use it every day, I'd put a lead additive in at double-strength, and run it that way. Some tests have shown that lead additive provides better protection at stronger concentrations (which makes sense). If you plan on rebuilding the engine soon, it may not matter. Steve
