Ummm? The calves themselves will not eat much hay this winter, a nibble here or there at first then gradually they'll eat more. They'll start on creep feed real good though. What about the cows they come from? Now they will eat lots of hay, however you don't mention them. Basically, is it two six week old calves by themselves without their mamas? That changes everything somewhat, creep feed, supliments, and then they'll actually tend to start grazing somewhat early. No expert here, but raised a few new born Holsteins in the very beginning to keep the exemption on my place until I bought some cattle.
