Tractors with cat.II 3 pt.hitches have longer lower lift arms, Bigger tractors with 34 and 38 in rear wheels have to have longer arms, in order to get the impliments out past the rear tires. This will give the wieght on the 3 pt. more leverage, making the front of the tractor lighter. Also, some bale forks, and spears, are made different than others. Some of them hook up "shorter" than others. This will place the bale a few inches farther to the rear. Sometimes, just an inch or two will make a big difference in how the tractor balances out. Case in point; I can put my 6' bush hog on my old Massey 50, and the front end stays glued to the ground. Put the same mower on my 2440 Deere, (That wieghs 1000lbs more) and it gets a bit light in the front, without adding a couple of front wieghts.
