I go with the clogged carburator inlet screen, but I once had a similiar problem with a sears walk behind mower. The machine was sold to be off the showroom floor at half price, cuz it was purchased and returned. The service department could not find anything wrong with it, so they resold it. When I got it home, it worked fine intill it warmed up. Then the bracket that activated the kill switch would move just enough that it killed the engine. The service department no doubt never tried cutting grass with it, so they never got it hot enough to have the bracket move. I just bent the bracket a tenth of an inch or so and every thing was fine. I would still check the inlet filter on the carb. Is there a drain in the fuel bowl? If so, when it dies, open the drain up and see if the bowl is starved for gas.
