Simplicity 16 hp stalling out

What would cause this garden tractor to run for a while, stall out, and after a few minutes start up again. It runs for a few min. and stalls out again.etc. I drained the gas tank, blew out the gas lines, checked the carburator, put a new fuel filter and air filter, changed oil, and it still does this. Any help, please? It's a 16hp Simplicity Landlord series. Hydro.
