Older IH tractors that may fit your needs in the 40 to 50hp range include: 340 404 300 350 504 These all have independant PTO and live hydraulics. You'll probably want the International brand of these models, which is the utility version. The Farmall brands of the same models are taller standing, row-crop tractors. Except for the 300, diesel is an option on these models, though usually harder to find compared to gas.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
