Back in 1977, I purchased a running but unrestored 1958 Buick for $1,000. It needed paint and tires, so I had new tires installed and a paint job. Then the car sat in a garage for 25 years with little attention other than starting it up twice a year and driving it for about a mile. Last year, I sold the car on Ebay to make room for tractors. The car sold for almost $8,000. Obviously, the car appreciated over the years despite gradual deterioration, as the paint had faded and the engine ran rough when I sold it. My question is, how much have antique tractor values increased over the last 25 years? I don't know because I wasn't restoring tractors back then. What does the future look like? Does it look like tractor values will appreciate in the next 25 years? I realize that tractor restoration is not a lucrative money-maker in the short term, but are there financial rewards in keeping tractors for the long haul?
