Maybe we can get something going here! I used to restore cars and switched to tractors about 4 years ago. I don't plan on making any money off my tractors, but don't plan on losing any either. I bought a 1941 A farmall to mow my acreage with. If I use it for 10 years, it will owe me nothing. This tractor has paid me back in enjoyment, its actually fun to mow with it. Here's my guess on the future. 25 years from now, there aren't going to be many folks interested in pre-1960 tractors therefore there will be no market for them. My grandson would like to push one over a cliff, that would be his idea of enjoying a tractor. Here is where I will make folks mad. The only tractors that will have any value are the specialty ones like the orchard models perhaps. I just don't see many folks who will be wanting an H farmall which I grew up with. When I go to tractor shows, I don't see many folks under 25 years old, I see a lot of old farts like me. Get a tractor that you can enjoy while you are still around, and don't worry about how much it will appreciate.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
