A search warrant may or may not be necessary. I would be careful about definitions here. And state law and case law. The right to privacy in a vehicle is much less than it is in a persons home. A game warden that hears a tractor doing field work, then hears a shot, and then hears the tractor shut down might very well have enough information to investigate. If he then sees the only person around, the tractor driver running over to a downed buck, I think a judge would support a search of the tractor. And if a freshly fired rifle was found there and shooting from a tractor is illegal, I would expect the tractor driver to be charged and convicted. It might be a good idea to find out if hunting from a tractor being operated in a field is or is not legal in your state or area. Most areas prohibit "road hunting", but checking with the game department before shooting game animals from a tractor might save a lot of hassle. Then again, if you are farming a large area and are not near a road, it is unlikely that anyone would ever know if you happened to harvest a buck from your tractor..... I would be worried about my gun being contaminated by dust from the farming or getting banged up. I get filthy when I do field work, especially summer fallowing. Maybe with a cab it would be OK.
