Spent 3 months searchin and searchin for the right tractor. First one for me. Went to an auction and the tractor started up, ran good everything worked looked good original condition. It is a ford 4000 1974. Only odd thing was oil was fresh and filter too. Won it for 3700.00 got it home and checked water and it was empty.???Filled it and ran it for about 5-10 min. happened to check oil again and it looked like sour cream.Freaked a little and took it to ford, guess what, freeze plugs in head600.00 later and she runs great used her all day today grading no problems. Be careful out there, I got real lucky, could a been cracked head or worse. Just wanted to share my experiance.
