Tom, There are two reasons to twist the belt. One, if the pulley and shaft on the driven machine is horizontal and needs to rotate in the opposite direction from the belt pulley on the tractor you twist the belt 180 degrees. Two, if the driven machine has the pulley on a vertical shaft rather than a horizontal shaft, you twist the belt 90 degrees to the left or right depending on the direction of rotation of the driven shaft. Three, if the drven machine has a horizontal shaft that rotates in the same direction as the tractor belt pulley you do not twist the belt. Harold H
