I bought my '92 Deere 870 in July 1995. It had 168 hours on it. I got a JD272 6' grooming mower, a 3 point post hole digger with 2 different size augers (it had been used once)and a landscaping or box scraper as some call it. I paid $10,000 for the whole outfit. I would think one factor on the value would be the hours on the 850, if it has been kept inside and what brand the mower is to determine it's worth in the pricing (an 8' mower is BIG for this size tractor) It also seems that these tractors will bring a bit more with front wheel assist. I really would be lost w/o my 870 as i mow about 3.5 acres with it. The only expense it has been to me is annual oil & fuel filter changes & i have replaced the original battery last year.
