Hi everyone, You gave me a quick response about my tractor being a 240 Utility 1958 model. You said they also made a 340 1858 also. This message concerns my son's tractor, another 240 Utility. I first thought it had to be the pump, but we put my new pump on it and it definately is not the pump. My hydralic had to run for about 20 to 30 minutes before it would lift and begin working. An engineer told me what was the matter with mine, the pump. My son's does the same thing, has to run some 30 minutes, but after that, the only way it will lift is to give it full throtle to get it to work at all. It also gives a noise like it is straining to work even when it is working. When I bought my tractor several years ago, it would not lift at all. I went in under the seat and opened up that section and found a bad o-ring. I replaced that and it worked perfect. My son also went in under the seat and found no problem there. It definately has to be the piston or a problem with the system under the gas tank (in front of the battery). Can anyone tell what you think the problem may be? Our next goal it to look inside the piston. I have rebuilt mine twice. Does this sound like a problem with the piston or under the gas tank system? Thanks! As I said before: Good Tractors!!!

The draft forces are
