D*m fool in a hurry on slippery roads

Just heard on the radio this morning the driver at an accident scene we stopped at died reroute to the hospital on the air ambulance.
Roads were slushy but track bare. The 45 year old driver who was old enough to know better was driving at the posted limit and lost control while passing people driving according to road conditions. The tires lost traction and the uneven drag from crossing the slush strips pulled the van into a slide. Went across a lane of traffic, air borne across the ditch and rammed the driver's door into a hydro pole. Miracle no one else was hit.
Found still in the crushed drivers seat in shock, un responsive, skin as gray as concrete, lips blue, bloody nose/mouth, breathing shallow/rasping. Another passerby minutes earlier was on the ball and was prepared for emergencies. Had a warm blanket around the casualty and was supporting the head/spine.
Left a grieving wife and children just before Christmas. Put the power off for miles around at chore time and cost the taxpayer a bill of expense.
