Well, that depends on what it is he wants to buy from you. By that statement. You do not even know what you are selling.. other than it is a 'small John Deere'. You first need to know what it is that you have to determine what it might be worth. You could have one nice rare jewel of a John Deere sitting there that could be worth double what he is willing to offer. Could also be that the motor is stuck from sitting all those years or there could be other issues with it. It could also be one of thousands of John Deere's still plying the fields or in people's collections. You really need to check it out more and see if you can find a data tag on it and its true condition. I know if you can get some more information off of the tractor.. model number...serial number.. something of that nature.. people on here will render you an idea of what it might be worth. I guess.. in reality.. what would you do with it or could you do with it and does $3,500 really sound like a fair price for it. Without some more information, we, the people who visit and post on this forum do not know what you have and therefore, cannot render or give you an appropriate answer to your question. I just hate for someone to take advantage of you. You definately do NOT want to take a car on trade. You do not know what problems might be lurking with the car or why he is so anxious to trade it for the tractor. Take cash..if you decide to sell this to him. Before you do anything..Give the people of this forum a chance to render you an idea. Find out what you really have. If this person is genuine in wanting to buy the tractor and give you at least $3,500. for it. Then he probably will be willing to wait a little bit while you determine what you have. There are alot of people who visit this site that buy/sell/collect these machines and know about what they are worth. Phil
