Kristin, Thanks for posting that pic. While it sheds some light, I still believe it to be a doodle-bug. There were some tractor conversions, and I posted on in the Identify this section. It only goes to show the creativity of the people of those times. Whatever they could come up with to make their tasks easier. Whenever someone criticizes someone else for being lazy, they should be reminded that if it weren't for lazy people, most time and labor saving devices would not have been invented.

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
