Hi, I listed a loader for a d-14 the other day, and sure enough, I received a response from one of those people who supposedly send a cashiers check and you send a balance to some one else, you know the scam?!
Well, when I received the email, for one it was so obvious that it was a scam, for they had no idea how to use proper English terminolgy, always spelled check "cheque"(wonder what nationality they are?) and was piecing together sentences terribly. It was quite good humor just trying to read these, as it was either from a foreigner or a 2 year old child!
No more than a half hour later, I received another one from someone else. Unbeleivable! I ended up receiving emails from 3 different individuals, all basically the same but different IP's and little things.
So I figured at this time, since I was bored and they had wasted my time and everyone else that they have contacted in the past, to humor myself with them and waste some of their time. I pretended I had no idea what was going on, I returned a few emails to them as if I was interested in pursuing their offer. Too Funny. It was like they were glued to their PC waitng for responses. I received several emails in reply, and at this time decided to go a little farther.
I replied to one and explained I had interest from another party, since my ad did say "or best offer", of $900. They replied ok, and delivered the same old spew that they stated earlier, so I notifed the other ones, and they replied with offers of $1,100 and an offer of $1,200.
Once again I sent a reply to the other stating this, and lo and behold... another response for $1,500. WOW, what a jump, $300!! must really want it!! And again the others followed up with a higher offer.
I fianlly had them up to over $2,000 for this. Reminder, my ad stated $700 OBO for a Paulson trip loader with snow bucket. Well, I finally got tired of it (who knows how high they would have said, probably more than a new one!)and forwarded all correspondence to the FDIC so they can look into it.
They probably will never be able to catch people like this, it is a shame, people like this are what is causing the loss of peoples trust in each other. Do they think we are just "dumb ol' farmers"?
Have any of you had these offers? place a follow up, and share your encounters.
Just remember, these guys are just plain old thieves, they are trying to STEAL YOUR money! I think it is time we waste their time, humor ourselves and then forward any info to the FDIC, you can get their(FDIC) email through the scam alerts you see in the classified section. just never send any kind of personal information what so ever to them(scammers) ever!
I look forward to reading your posts and seeing just how big of a problem this is.
Have a great day! Shane

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
