for your price range I would get a 800 series ford...you could get a real nice one with a loader...there were different models in the 800 series that had different options...get one with power steering(a must for loader work)..live pto..live hydraulics...get the 5 speed gas model(diesels are poor starters in cold climates...also stay away from the select-o-speed transmission models..these had like 10 speeds but they break alot)..parts are easy to get and not expensive...these tractors are proven performers and very reliable...as for John Deers...I won't say anything Dave
