All your symptoms point to a nonfunctioning alternator or one that is not connected to the rest of the electrical system. Some NH compacts have a smaller red wire connected with the positive battery cable that connects to the alternator. If your old cable had this , does the new one? Check voltage at the battery with a VOM both running and not running. if the readings are the same, your alternator is not charging the battery, which is indicated by the red alt light being lit.
