I would suggest that you orient the mower so that the blade is level or inclined slightly downward in the front for most of your mowing. That way the cutting edges encounter the brush (load) at the leading edge of the circle, in close proximity to the tractor (less "overhang"). Less lateral strain on your lift arms because there will be less leverage from the point of impact if you hit an obstruction. (For the same reason, you should never back your mower into a load.) I always adjust the rear tire so as to prevent as much scalping as possible on uneven ground, while not lifting the rear of the mower to absurd heights.
