"rubber" no way. What ever they make them out of these days, OK. I am more worried that with the line missing you have gottn dirt or such in the pump. Any small stuff is bad for pump. Thats why they use 2 filters and then a 3rd final filter. Put the primer pump back befor the filters and mess with the last part only when you have too.
