farmall h spark plugs

i have a 1942 farmall h when i buy new plugs the tractor runs almost perfect, but the longer it runs the worse it runs especially under load it will run good at a idle but when you give it gas or try to go in high gear it misses once you get up to speed it will clean out and run on all cylinders also when this starts happening the plugs are black. when i change the plugs again it will run good for a while then start this all over am i getting the wrong plugs. or what else could it be.
