I worked for a National Laboratory for a short while. Since they worked with nukes, safety was paramount. I remember one day I was supervising a job and said to myself: I can't get the job done for worrying about safety. It totally consumed my time (and mind) and I forgot what I set out to do in the first place. Didn't matter, didn't have time left after insuring all the safety requirements were met and documented.
