Tammy, I have a 1955 400 also. These are fantastic tractors but they do not start the greatest. Make sure your battery and cables/connections are in tip top condition. It also helps to have the cracking pressure of the injectors set 300 lbs. higher than stock. After that it should start ok down to about 30 degrees. Anything less than that will probably require starting fluid. Case tractors are popular here in S.E. WIS. Good luck
