If I could be reasonably sure the engine is not leaking water internally (from another crack), and the external weld looked professionally done, and leak-free, I wouldn't have a problem buying it. There are MANY machines still out working, earning their keep, that have had the water jackets cracked and welded.

It would be a good idea to know that then engine had not been run for at least overnight, and then slightly loosen the oil drain plug, to see if any water has settled to the bottom of the oil.
