All good answers. The only thing that I would add, which was the last straw (after filters and return lines) was this: Rev up the tractor and then abruptly set the throttle to idle. If the engine seems dead (as rpm"s fall to idle) and then immediately jing, jing, jing"s nice and smoothly at the idle rpm"s your pump may be ok. Mine didn"t. Overhauled the pump (changing nothing else mentioned herein) and it fixed it. I think it"s Real Diesel on line did mine for bout $400 on a 6 cylinder distributor pump for a JD. They"re in N.C. and were real nice and punctual. Course if you know what you"re doing, I understand kits are like $25, but who sets it up when finished? Mark
