Hi Shock, Ran into the same thing myself. Perhaps that bearing failed because the preload wasn't right to begin with? Who knows. They have got to be loaded, just as those old tapered wheel bearings on cars and trucks used to be. When it is set right, there should be absolutely no shake out at the end of that empty axle. Add and remove shims as needed to get 'er loaded just right. It's kind of a 'feel' thing, just like the old wheel bearings were. First set it too 'loose', then bring 'er tight with/without the shims.
