It's not a real beefy rear end in there. Almost all rubber tractor tires slip on ice/snow no matter the weight. Chains dig in and grip.
How about a very narrow snow blower and no chains. If the blower auger is full the tractor tires will spin .This reduces auger bearing, pto and tractor stress.
