Sounds like the needle and seat in the carb might need replacing, or maybe some crud has found it's way in there and is keeping the float needle stuck open a bit. The float level might also need adjusting. Tear the carb down, clean everything up and reassemble it as a first step. Be careful when you separate the two halves of the carb so you don't tear the gasket (although you can cut another one). Also, don't attempt to remove any brass screws or jets for now or disaster will strike. Email me if you wish, I have removed the hide feature on my name link.
