1998 Chevrolet 4x4 w/350 engine. Engine has cold start knock, gm says normal to sound like a diesel the first 3 miles down the road. Give me an abnormal quiet 350 like I have been buying for the last 25 years. Tranny lost od and reverse, $1980 to put new shaft in. Intake manifold gasket went bad, $680 to replace. Front rotors developed delaminations at 19K. Love the chassis, drive train was a major step back. Had to put a tranny cooler on to tow first load ever >2500 # this spring, so don't know if I will be going back to the GM well for a truck. Friend of mine has a head gasket go on his ford truck, had to lift the cab off the frame to get the heads off... jeepers creeepers.
