oliver 60 electrical questions

when i bought my oliver 60 it had a 12 volt battery on it. this does not necessarily mean that the system had been converted to 12 volts. questions for the experts. 1. what size electrical system was built into my 1948 oliver 60 (sn: 624208) at the st. charles factory?? 6 volt, or 12 volt?? 2. the tractor has a generator on it. how do i know whether or not that is a 6 or 12 volt generator?? 3. how can i tell whether or not that generator is charging the battery?? i don't think it is since the battery will hold a charge, but always runs down after i drive it. appreciate any insights which the experts here can give me.
