I seem also to have a constant voltage feed. My "newer" Ford is a 1991 4 x 4 3/4 ton..... The problem is when I shut down, the hot wire is still hot, and I don't want to wear down the starting battery. Did Ford have a way to isolate the battery on your truck?
By the way if anyone is thinking of using the 302FI motor for towing , forget it. At least with the so called five speed. I never get to use fifth gear!The truck is now for sale-I'm going back to my trusty one ton dually with the 351 4 speed and a carbonator!I'll miss the traction of four wheel drive though. (And the lack of wind blowing through the floor....)
