The advice you need is that of a local radio talk show host here in MN. It"s called the 48 Hour Rule: If you can put the item in a place where she COULD notice it but probably WON"T, like the shed or something, and keep it there for 48 hours without her noticing, you"re entitled to make up whatever story you need to. "What, that tractor? It"s always been here! I"ve had it forever!" That, of course, is followed by The Three Prices you Pay: The price you actually paid, the price you told her that you paid, and the price you pay when she finds out the first price!
