Interesting! I too am overhauling a mdl 30 (and BUDA) with a buddy of mine and thought that I'd "google" the internet for some needed info and found your post! I can share with you what I've learned thus far. The crankshaft bolt (the hand crank engagement piece) unscrews counter clockwise. You'll need a BIG wrench) The front pulley is a slight interference fit with a keyed locator in the crank and the only way to remove the pulley is with TLC. We used a generic 3-prong pulley puller but by it's self that was not enough. Btwn the puller (on the OD) and two screwdrivers to help "coax" it off from behind, we got if off but with some need to straighten out the stamped steel pulley material in a couple of places. There is a vendor that sells new pulleys WITH a puller provision (slotted or drilled and tapped I assume). I don't have that vendor info at the moment, but I can get it if you need. It also appears to me the the front seal is installed from BEHIND the cam cover, unlike many other engines I've worked on. Hope this helps. Don
