The "T" did stand for "Tricycle"---in the late '40s when the MT arrived, but in reality, it designates a tractor intended as a ROW CROP tractor. They stood somewhat taller than their utility cousins. The wide front end is merely today's most popular arrangement, but there was an assortment of different front ends available.
