A couple questions and comments... 1) Are only 40 Acres "farmable ?" if so,
you don't need a 100hp class tractor.. 50 will do nicely. (you don't have to pull 'big iron' to get your chores done in a timely manner) 2) Are you mechanically 'inclined'? Got tools and a shop ? If not, your best bet is to drive around, see what your neighbors are using, and find out who the 'quality' ag equipment dealers are in your area. Go with what's popular and SUPPORTED in your location. What are the plans for the remaining 160 ? Woodlot etc.. etc ? Is it hilly ? Do you need some sort of equipment to "work" that part of the property ? Lots of things to think about.
