I have owned a KR1225 since new which is identical to the one you are looking at except mine has the K (Cummins L10)engine. The machine has been absolutly trouble free in 5000 hrs. The one your looking has to be an 85 model, right ? This is what the Steiger model number means. C= Cat engine. R= 20 spd ranger transmission with built in wet clutch, made by Allis challmers and used in their larger 4WD models. The powershift part has a shift under power low/high range like a JD quad range. 1=1000 series tractor with the good cab and AC,plus air ride seat, and pressure and flow compensated hydraulics which are better than those on a 40 series JD. 225=225 flywheel hp.
