Your hook up is correct. You are connecting the batteries in series. Positive to negative, leaving you a positive and negative to hook up to your equipment. As for charging, in order to charge the batteries using a 12 volt charger you would need to separate the batteries and charge them independantly. In order to charge them together, you need a 24 volt charger. I have to ask, what are you trying to put 24 volts to? That's alot of juice. Chris.
